Originally created in 1433, Maritime Greenwich is the oldest royal park in London and home to The Royal Observatory. It has impressive views towards the Museum. A few of the park benches are missing, but most of the greenery has been replaced since after the invasion. Though pleasant enough during the day, it is a more dangerous place to be at night than ever in the past, and some are even discussing placing armed soldiers to patrol the area at night due to the increasingly severe crime problem.

Amidst the trees and the ponds a lone girl plays on the rusty swing set. Gently swinging back in forth and humming a tune to herself. Occasionally she looks up at the stars and sighs with sadness. " What a beautiful night, I wish you were here brother to enjoy it." she says quietly to herself. To others it seems strange that a young 'defenseless' girl be in such a dangerous place but Cinderthorne is unlike other mortals. She comes from a long line of Witches and Wizards. She may not be very strong yet but she can handle her own, at least she thinks she can. Jumping lightly from the swing she suddenly starts to shrink, grow fur and a long tail until she looks like an ordinary street cat, black as the night with little white stripes on her back. Her green eyes glowing she examines a rather large tree and decide that yes it would be a perfect place to nap. After settling down on a branch she closes her eyes and her reality turns to nightmares. She murmurs and twitches but doesn't wake.

Rtamarus sighed as he ran his tongue over one of his fangs. He had just had a snacks few minutes earlier and was cleaning up a little after snapping the humans neck. He didn't want ghouls following him around like lost puppies. That'd be for when he got older and stronger. He yawned and scratches his bare abdomen lazily as he moved silently through the park. Until he heard the movement of rusty chain. He froze, no movement or breath that only the dead can pull off. His ears perked up as he slowly moved forward once more.
He stayed in the shadows of the trees, keeping his ears open until he finally came in sight of a young looking woman. He watched her hop off the swing and...shapeshift? What an interesting little human... He thought to himself as the cat leaped up into a tree. He gave a fairly loud murr at the thought of drinking her blood. But he restrained that thought, he had just eaten and he didn't want to be a glutton. So he moved, quietly, over to the tree and looked up at the cat-girl.

A slight rustling of the grass as Rtamarus stepped toward the tree caused Cinderthorne to twitch her ears but still did not wake. Her nightmare was making her heart pound heavily as screams of pain echoed in her dream. What did cause her to wake was a lound bark off in the distance and her eyes flew open with a start. She had had bad experiences when she was in cat form with dogs but what she saw was no dog but what appeared to be a man. Who was this? Was he a threat? Maybe if she keeps acting the role of a normal cat he will lose interest and leave. But maybe he wasnt a threat... It probably would be best not to risk it though. She meowed a pitiful mew and stretched her long back legs but did not take her eyes off the man.

Rtamarus continued to stare at the cat, almost trying to will her with his mind to change back into a human...or whatever she was. He didn't look away when the dog barked off in the distance, but he did grin when the girl stretched and meowed. "How interesting, you can take the shape and you can make the sounds." He rumbled out, his voice a deep baritone. "What else can you do?" He asked, curiosity lacing his voice openly. A low breeze blew by, causing the slightly long grass to sway about him.

He saw me!!! Panic made her mind go blank.. Flee or fight? Flee or fight?! What could she do? He had obviously seen her shape shift when she thought she was alone. Did he want to hurt her? There were most definitely people who wanted to kill her kind. There was something odd about him. She turned her head sideways in a confused way and peered harder at the man. But she couldn't quite see what made her feel so uneasy about him. Making up her mind her shaped blurred as her figure returned to human. Her light black dress moving with the breeze. Pushing her green bangs out of her eyes she eyed the man. " Who are you? What do you want with me?" she said in a strong voice, even though her heart was pounding.

His grin widened, he could practically smell her panic. He didn't care if she was afraid of him really, a lot of people were. They were smart to be afraid. "I am Rtamarus Aelkocarg, and what might your name be lady? "He asked with a little hand flourish and small bow. He never took his eyes off the shape changer. "Nothing at the moment, you just piqued my curiosity. It's not every day that I stumble across a human who can turn into an animal." He said in his rumbling voice. "Can you turn into other animals? Or just a little cat?" He questioned, if she didn't answer he would simply leave it at that.

Right as he grinned she confirmed what had given her that unease feeling, his fangs were quite visible. A vampire. Her eyes narrowed, if she needed to she could protect her self and escape. It would be best to play along for now and not make him angry, "My name is Cinderthorne... Just Cinder tends to be easier for people though." She says quietly her eyes never leaving his. Was it smart to tell him that she could only shape into a cat? Well even if she does he wont know of her other gifts. "Just a cat." she says quietly her body still on guard to make a quick exit. "And if I'm not mistaken are indeed a vampire?" her grip to the branch tightened and the wind picked up. Sitting in a tree was defiantly not a good place to defend oneself in.

Rtamarus listened as she spoke. She could only turn into a cat? Such a let down, but she might turn into other things if she got stronger. "Such a shame, it would have been interesting if you could turn into...say...a panther." He said, as he blinked, some people felt vampires were more human if they did living person stuff. Like breathing or blinking. "Yes I'm a vampire, is there a problem with me being one Miss Cinder?" He asked, his helmed head tilting to the side. Making him look strangely, like a curious puppy.

His comment about her lack of shape shifting into other animals had struck Cinderthorne as if he had slapped her. How many times had she heared she was a disgrace to the family. Barely any powers at all and always running off from home. Everytime she heared all the ridicule she wished she could become stronger so running off by herself was like proving she wasn't just a weak mortal. Her eyes left his face and she peered at the ground and quietly replied " I know." sadly. She quickly looked up at him. Its better to always be on guard. "There's nothing wrong as long as your not hungry." she said lightly but what she was really thinking was As long as you don't prey on the innocent. She loathed the vampires that preyed on children, she wanted to tear them limb from limb.

Rtamarus took note that she looked away when he mentioned her lack of animal forms. Troubles at home? He shrugged off the thought and continued to look at her. He chuckled softly at the mention of hunger. "I was contemplating whether or not to feed on your earlier, but I decided against it since I already 'ate' this evening." He rumbled as he folded his arms across his chest. "You know if you're upset about not having many forms why not practice what you know? Training makes people stronger after all." He stated, she probably did train but a little pep talk or goading never hurt anyone.

She shivered as the breeze wrapped around her. At first when she thought of him contemplating whether to eat her gave her a heart a little jolt but she quickly calmed. Would it be so bad to die? The only people that had loved her were gone.. Her eyes filled with tears but she blinked them away. "Yes wise words, I do train but nevertheless I'm still pathetic." Why was she opening up to him about that? She practiced daily with her plant manipulation but nothing amazing happend. Just her making flowers bloom or grass grow taller. Her grandmother said that maybe she just needed to be put in mortal danger to awake that power but alas she had been and couldn't have done anything. I'm sorry brother...

His eyebrow raised up when he saw tears start to appear in her eyes. He was mildly confused, was she training badly? Or were people really putting her down that much. "Heh, first time anything I said was considered wise." Rtamarus chuckled while shaking his head. He looked back up at her. "Are you strong of mind and body?" He asked and continued to talk. "If you're strong in one aspect and weak in another that may be what is hindering you." His eyes flashed slightly, it was true. His spells required physical and mental strength. Which is why he considered humans weak really, they always focused on one thing. They rarely went both ways.

She pondered this.. Could she be training herself wrong? Her body was strong but maybe her mind wasn't. No her mind was strong, she just knew it was. Her problem was this blockage between her and her magic. The blockage said her mother was most likely due to the horrible event that passed when she was just a little girl. Her pain caused her to build a wall between herself and magic. If she could ever get over what happend she knew she would- but her thought ended there. Her eyes started clouding over black and began to roll back into her head . All she could see was blackness rising to greet her. She lost her grip of the branch as a sound of deafening waves crushed reality. Her limp body fell from the tree.

Rtamarus noticed she was in thought. He waited patiently for her to end her line of thought. His red eyes narrowed when her eyes changed color and rolled back into her head. "Oi oi oi! What's happening?" He asked then blinked slowly when she fell off her branch. He caught her easily, bending down a bit when she hit so she wouldn't get hurt on contact with his armor. "Oi, you in there? Or am I in trouble?" He asked, mild worry creeping into him. He hadn't even done anything dammit!
