The area just outside the village is deceptively peaceful. The grass is green and the fragrances pleasant, and the depressing taint of the forest cannot be felt here. However, as one approaches, there is something disquieting; the lack of activity noticeable within the village, which is devoid of all residents who remain among the living. This is the edge between the relatively safe outside world and entering the danger of the woods or the village proper.

A breath of wind, and Rane stood in the grass outside the villlage. Raising his head, he looked over the town from under the brim of his hat, blue eyes glinting in the sun, mildly curious about its inhabitants. He wasn't thirsty, he just felt that this would be as good a place as any to come back to. He was still tired from his fight, but after a week of resting up and drinking his fill from some unnamed village in Africa, he was almost at full strength. He could feel the darkness and fire swirling inside him, twisting his emotions into chaos, but he didnt care. He was in control, for now, and he would master these conflicting powers soon enough. Making a decision, Rane set out with long strides, heading for town, his trench coat flapping with the speed of his movement, making sure no part of him entered into direct sunlight.

Ray tapped his finger on the bar counter signaling that he wanted a refill. He was a bit tipsy already but who wouldn't be? Especially from the events that had just transpired, Besides that this world had started to bore him a little bit, then again that had already happened in the past. The barkeep slid him another light brown drink on the rocks. Ray shook his head He knew his boredom would pass soon it always did it sometimes took decades even at time centuries but it passed. Ray looked up he felt a dark presence heading for the town it was strong. Ray couldn't help but smile at this his bones acked{sp} which only meant one thing the stranger was of his loins. By that he did not mean his child oh no he never mated with any one, there was really no need to he had been here since the beginning and he would be here past the end such was his blessing and curse. None the less this stranger intrigued him he was of him and yet something new. Had some one finally created something from nothing? Had he really been out of touch so long? Ray couldn't help but chuckle, after all the last time he had been on the surface Humans had thought they were they were on top of the food chain. The again with Their immortal in capture there was no wonder the tides had changed. Slamming down his drink he placed a shilling on the counter the bar keep blinked the mans skin was peeling and decaying, With one good eye the corpse looked at him. "Believe me turn it in, once you do your going to be rich for genrations on end." Ray stood and turned waving at waving in the air at no one in particular "Call it a gift of hope, hope that neither my children or any of the others takes what life you have left." Pushing the door he breathed in the night sky it was magnificent the moon was full and he could feel its energy filling his very bones. Now came the hard part, running into this stranger without causing much of a stir in the village. Ray's eyes darted from shadow to shadow that was the distant shadow he had to determine if the stranger had a pattern he was quite off the way still though. A smile crept along his face.Putting his hands in his pocket his started a casual walk toward a particularly big area, A warehouse abandoned long ago if the stranger did not want to be seen he would be there eventually. Arriving in plenty of time to spare Ray stood with his hands in his pockets and waited, Maybe if the man intrigued him enough he would offer his own blood to him that is of course if He thought the stranger could handle such a past and power.

Rane strode past the village limit, into the village proper. The moon shone down on him, and he blinked up at it, letting the soft rays fall on his face. Sweeping his head down, he surveyed the area, and spotted a large abandoned warehouse. That seemed as good a place as any to shelter for a time. Rane sent his thoughts out in a wave, washing over the beings in this town, looking for a threat. For a second, something registered, sending back a signal that was so powerful Rane's eyes widened. But when he singled it out, the presence was at the same power of those around it. Uneasy, Rane decided to pretend that his search had malfunctioned somehow, though it had never happened in over 6 centuries. He remained wary, but continued towards the warehouse. Nothing here was a threat to him, so far as he knew, but he still didn't want to be noticed. Stepping inside the warehouse, he snapped his fingers, lighting them on fire. This fire burned bright, but had threads of darkness running through it, flickers of chill blackness that flowed perfectly balanced with the flame. He made a little tossing motion, and the fire lept from his fingers, coalescing into a ball that danced merrily on the empty air in front of him. Using that ball of fire like a torch, he looked around the warehouse, studying his surroundings.

Ray smiled in the shadows for a second the fire caught his eyes like a vampires' his eyes reflected red for but a second. If lucky maybe Rane could have caught a glimpse of his body as well but it was not there any longer. Seeming to melt into the shadows Ray had seemed to vanish all together. "hmmm" This young man was interesting to Ray he could use fire? True to what the stranger was he had every right to do so but his fire was just not fire, it was laced with darkness. For such a youngster to be able to control two elements of life at such a level was quite intriguing to begin with. From a rafter Ray looked down tilting his head, how should he greet such a fellow who is so cautious? His voice would start high in the air soft and distant but then seeming then it would seem to come from Rane's shoulder itself. "Your not here to take what little....life is still here are you?" The voice never lost its pitch calm and soft it would lead Rane's gaze to about ten paces in front of him right where Ray was sitting casually his head tilted in curiosity. When he had arrived at such spot was a mystery in itself the light of the flame almost scurry away from his being.Almost as if a single piece of the light from the flame would touched him, it would be swept away from existence.{ <-- ech bad sentence} Ray seemed relaxed enough though. He projected no feeling of aggressiveness, matter of fact if Rane where to describe the feeling it would be that of a helpless human child more curious then cautious.

The voice, coming as it did, surprised Rane a little, but not enough to make him startle. He studied the man in front of him, the feeling of curiosity emenating from the man setting him at ease enough to relax to his normal state of tenseness. He was no more tense that a seasoned warrior, ready for action if it should find him. "No, im merely passing through. These people, if you can call them that, hold no interest for me. What about you? And if I might ask, who are you?"

Ray studied the man nodding with him. "Oh questions of your own do we?" Ray smiled seemingly eerie at point but altogether welcoming. Ray leaned back on his hands. "Hmm how to best describe me?" There was a distant barking suddenly erupting from all the shadow that still laid there a multitude of glowing red eyes popped from the shadows a growling took over the barking and then laughter a childs laughter. The eyes dissipated and a child seemed to materialize from the shadows behind Ray He wore an old blue boys school uniform. He stood behind Ray with his hands on Rays shoulders he stood and stared at Rane. "I would say in essence I am you, but that not true." Ray pointed at Rane and to himself. "In truth you are of me." Ray shrugged the kid disappeared.

Ranehtar scratched his head in confusion.
"I'm not sure I understand." He said. "My father was a worker for a lord in the middle ages. He was killed by that same lord in an attempt at my life. How could I be of you?"
Rane did not fear this man. He felt no threat, and felt that he could place his trust in him. Even stranger, while he did not know what the man was talking about, at some deep level, Rane understood what he was saying. The man, while Rane had never seen him before, was very familiar. And what about the growling and barking, and those red glowing eyes that could only have been the eyes of a vampire? The questions, Rane was sure, would be answered in time.

Ray smiled and chuckled lightly. "Thats because He was of me. and the man that birthed him and the person that birthed him."
Ray shrugged. "Its simple really I am all my children father." Ray looked Rane up and down pointed at him in entirety. He tilted his head at him and bit his lower lip being creepy but cute at the same time. With a look of puzzlement in his eye.
"You on the other hand are just more then me." Ray smiled he always did love the way he talked. It was like what did those humans call it from that movie? Ah yes a Jedi.
"You said you were turned by your father's lord? I have no recollection of such an event in history?" Such a thing happening would surely have been talked about if not in the vampire clan, maybe at least his beloved Were clan? But nothing not even a whisper from the immortal Fayt. "Strange. You are the black smudge in fate that will be our outcome. More of you smudges have appeared recently." Ray stood and walked towards him eying him up and down as he walked in a circle.
"Is it because of our current events is it some how that you smudges might be a flaw in her plans? maybe a way out?" Ray looked up at him now standing at him he smirked. "What are you child?"

Rane shook his head.
"No, I was born a vampire. I said my father's lord tried to take my life, and I meant exactly that. He was trying to kill me, not bite me. What I am stems from that day. I am not...ordinary. I am a vampire, but I have in me the blood of someone much older. His blood changed me, gave me new power those around me do not seem to have." Rane held up a hand, which burst into flame. He curled his fingers around, the flame phasing from a normal orange color to a bright blue. Rane suddenly clenched his fist, and the flame went out. His eyes had a faint tinge of red glow to them.
"I have just recently started to learn to control this power, so I cant really fight with it yet, but I am trying to master it."

Ray made what most people would call a stink face. sighing roughly at the Rane character.
"Of course, killed or just drained of blood is the same for a vampire."
Reaching out none threatening. Placing his own hand into Rane's he looked at him.
"Child all true vampires can do that trick. I can feel something different within you though."
Ray stepped to the side holding Rane's arm out his finger moved along his vein. Studying it a little tracing his vein to his elbow he dipped his finger slightly piercing the vein the slightest bit.
"Oops."
Ray smiled and dropped the arm. he stepped back a little bit and folded his arms. The darkness behind Ray seemed to sneak up behind him and kiss the edges of his figure.
"Please if you may do that trick that you did earlier but with the same passion as you did that...'spectacular' flame show you just did now. Of course you know I'm referring to your lacing it with Darkness trick."
Ray looked on interested in what may happen next the darkness that was lapping at his outline seemed to spill over onto the tips of his shoulder now as if giving him a relaxing massage. What Ray was expecting though was not entirely clear though, Rare as it was it was still not unheard of old/ high ranking Vampires to be able to control both Darkness and a second element.Old was the key word here and Rane was not nearly old enough. That and he felt a sort of pull in his own self when Rane was near.

Rane hissed through his teeth as Ray's nail pierced his skin. The blood began to drip, and Rane's eyes were drawn to it. The steady drip...drip...drip of the blood fascinated him, in a way it never had before. Rane shook his head then brought his hand up. Trailing one finger down his wrist towards the spot, he concentrated, and a tiny spark flared on his fingertip. The spark grew into a small flame, and as Rane pressed the flame over the spot, letting the flame burn the break in his skin closed, he glanced up at Ray. He let the threads of darkness twirl through the flame, giving it just the barest hint of a shadow, as if something were just out of sight in the fire, always eluding the eyes by just the slightest amount. Once the prick had been closed, he dropped his hand, allowing the flame to spread over the hand still up once again. This time though, the flame was laced with darkness.
"Like this?" He asked. Suddenly, his eyes were once again drawn to the little spot of blood on the ground. His vision focused on it, centering on the spot. His brow furrowed slightly as he concentrated more and more on that fascinating spot of his blood, and as it did, the blood seemed to ripple ever so slightly.

Ray watched as Rane couldn't help himself but watch his own blood drip from his veins. A slight smirk on his face. Most would not think twice as of thinking it abnormal of such a thing especially from a vampire but the thing is, Vampires haven't bled in ages since most bloodlines are so diluted that they are mere reflections of their first ancestors who could breath, bleed, walk in the sun, and even die from a mortal wound.
"mhmm."
Ray watched as Rane laced his fire he could feel the light tug happen from the inside of him as he watched Rane. But as he completed the flame and Rane once again concentrated on his lost blood, the pull that Ray felt became stronger. Narrowing his eyes he looked into Rane's seeing a change start to surface.
"Very good!" As Ray said this he clapped his hands together to distract Ray and get him to stop focusing on the blood. What was also not seen was the shadows themselves fly across the floor and wipe up the small mess upon the floor.
"Next question. You said your father was a servant...what vampire services anyone or thing else besides themselves?"
Ray put up a hand. "Aaand for that matter defeats someone that puts them in such service?"
Ray was asking a lot of questions but there was a lot going on here that he should have known or at least have a inclination on what was happening in front of his eyes. He was nearly to the point of discovery though, and such a discover would lead him to anger. After all the audacity of a man made Vampire.

Rane looked up suddenly as Ray clapped his hands, his breathing slightly heavy, and his eyes had taken on a definate tinge of red. He shook his head.
"I don't know why my father served another, he died before I was old enough to ask. My father also did not defeat the lord, someone much older and stronger did. When my father was killed, that one avenged him. In doing so, some of his blood dripped into my mouth. He took me away from that place after the fight, and trained me in the way of fighting and surviving as a vampire."

That was it that was his answer this boy that stood in front of him was an anomaly. An abomination no a blessing of the sort. Despite the threat to his life and the fact that even though born a vampire his own blood did not deteriorate in itself to get rid of the second source of blood that had invaded his body. A smile slid across his face now as he unfolded his arms placing his hands in his pocket.
"If I may be so bold..."
Ray almost chuckled at such a statement.
".. Where is this teacher of yours?"
The fact that Rane was still alive was due to his teacher in more ways then one... the life expectancy of a natural born Vampire in the last century or so was such more then less then 1% that even at the thought it would kill the child. This 'Rane' was getting more and more interesting.
